Is our SharePoint ready for Copilot?
Copilot shows each person content they have at least view access to. If your tenant overshares a file, Copilot will find and summarise it for everyone the file reaches. The usual causes are organisation-wide sharing links, sites open to the whole company, broken permission inheritance and sites with no owner. SharePoint Copilot Discovery finds them and ranks what to fix first. SharePoint Data Foundations fixes them.
How much does SharePoint consultancy cost?
SharePoint Copilot Discovery runs from £5,000 for five days of work, delivered within one to two weeks. SharePoint Data Foundations, which makes the fixes, runs from £10,000 for ten days, delivered within three to six weeks; larger estates and migrations take longer and cost more. An intranet starts with a £5,000 fixed discovery, which produces the information architecture, the page designs and a fixed price for the build. Public sector buyers purchase via G-Cloud at SFIA rates rather than this ladder.
Do we need extra Microsoft licences?
Usually not for the intranet: SharePoint is part of most Microsoft 365 business and enterprise plans. The deeper oversharing reports and controls come from SharePoint Advanced Management, which Microsoft includes with Copilot licensing on qualifying plans or sells as an add-on, and sensitivity labelling depends on your Purview licensing. We confirm what your tenant has before the discovery starts and work with what is there.
How is this different from your AI Governance service?
AI Governance is the policy layer: which AI systems you run, who owns them, and how you evidence control to a board, auditor or insurer. This is hands-on work inside your Microsoft 365 tenant: the permissions, sites and labels that decide what Copilot can reach. If you need both, the discovery findings become evidence in the governance framework.
Can you move us off file shares or another document store?
Yes, as part of SharePoint Data Foundations. We design the structure and permissions first, then move the files into them. Move files before you decide where they belong and who should see them, and you carry the oversharing across with them.
